This Week (and last)

flowers processed with show and hide

Life

Skipped last week because of $drama, and just feeling the need to hide for a bit. My last week in Seattle was hectic but amazing, so great to spend time with friends, and then I flew back to Colombia and it’s been nice to be “home”.

Bought an Apple Watch and an Apple TV (domestic object!) and I feel suitably ashamed.

Work

Work is really intense right now, and I’m working… not sustainably. At least I feel like I’m working a lot because I have a lot to do though, and not because of the time required to show face, or political bullshit. This past week has probably been the week where I struggled most not being an IC anymore.

We went on strike for Technically Speaking, which raised awareness of the unwillingness to pay for anything that is considered “diversity”.

I hosted another #MakingThingsMonday event at Glowforge, which was really fun.

Final copy edits came in for my book chapter (a project I worked on mainly in 2014!!) and I am working on my talks for May.

End of the UK tax year which is a pain.

Media

TV: Catching up on latest episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and The Good Wife, and watching Season 5 of How I Met Your Mother.

Books: Still reading Switch (really like it), read The First Affair (interesting, on how a woman’s sexuality is demonized), finished Pretty Much Screwed.
