The first time I came to Seattle and hung out at Glowforge I had no idea what I would make. It was somewhat revelatory to me to discover that making things wasn’t actually terrifying, and Dan and I made my Show & Hide necklace together (now my favourite accessory, as it represents so many things that I love).
Last time we did an impromptu #ladiesandlasers night, this time I hosted “Making Things Monday”, which we opened up to all underrepresented people in tech (if you missed it, I hope to do another one in Feb or March, I’ll tweet about it).
My project was “The Ultimate Selfie”.
Step 1: Buy an adorable fluffy hat (Venice).
Optional: Play “who wore it better” with the Tiny Raccoon. Lose.
Step 2: Notice the awesome shadow created by the exceptionally fluffy hat.
Step 3: Wear it a lot. Make it part of your brand.
Step 4: Get Tony to work some Illustrator Magic.

Step 5: Print on the Glowforge!

Final result: Shadow Cate, can be reprinted as necessary.
